[3% vacancies (SSA wise) are reserved for physically handicapped candidates and 10% vacancies (SSA wise) are reserved for Ex-servicemen candidates, which will be adjusted with the category to which physically handicapped/Ex-servicemen belong]
In respect of physically handicapped persons, candidates with following physical disabilities will be permitted:
i) Hearing Impairment: Partially Deaf (PD) – 1.5%ii) Locomotive Impairment: One Lag (OL) or Both Lag (BL), Limited exercise to tolerance-early (FT) – 1.5%iii) Visual: NIL
Eligibility :
Age : Candidates must be between 18 and 27 years as on 30.09.2007 i.e. last date of receipt of application. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates. In case of departmental candidates (employees working in BSNL only) the upper age limit is relaxable upto 40 years in respect of general candidates, upto 45 years in respect of SC/ST candidates and upto 43 years for OBC candidates as per Rules. Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation in age limit as per Rule.
Qualification: A candidate must have obtained Three Year Diploma in Engineering in any of the following disciplines : Telecommunications Engineering/ Electronics Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Radio Engineering/ Computer Engineering/ M.Sc (electronics)/ Instrumentation Technology with a minimum of 50% marks from a recognized Institution/University.
Selection: Candidates will be selected as TTA on the basis of a written competitive examination and followed by medical examination. There shall be three written (objective type) papers (Paper-I, Paper-II and Paper-III) as per details below:.

The standard of paper in General ability test will be such as may be expected of an engineering diploma holder. The standard of papers in other subjects will approximately be that of Diploma level of an Indian polytechnic. The Basic Engineering Paper will broadly consists questions on Applied Mathematics, Applied Physics, Basic Electricity, Electronic Devices and Circuits and Digital Techniques. In the Specialization Paper the candidate has to answer any two sections out of total seven sections i.e. A. Electrical, B. Communication, C. Network, Fillers and Transmission Lines, D. Instruments and Measurements, E. Control System, F. Microprocessors and G. Computers. If required the candidates can collect detailed syllabus from the office of the General Manager Telecom. of the respective SSAs.
Conditions :
i) Registration in employment exchange is not mandatory. However, preference will be given if the applicant has registration in the employment exchange of the SSA concerned in which the applicant applies.
ii) The selected candidates, before their appointment as Telecom. Technical Assistant have to undergo the prescribed course of training in one of the Telecom. Training Centres of BSNL. The selected candidate will have to serve in Assam Circle and transfer to other State will not be allowed in normal case.
iii) The selected candidates shall have to execute a bond in the form as specified by BSNL to serve in BSNL for a period of 5 (Five) years from the date of appointment as Telecom. Technical Assistant.
iv) Candidate working under Central/ State Govt./ Public Sector Undertakings should send their application through [roper channel.
v) An applicant is allowed to appear for examination against the vacancy of one SSA only. TTA is a SSA cadre and examination will be conducted SSA wise by the Circle on the same day. Examination is likely to be held in the month of November, 2007.
Examination fee : Examination fee of Rs. 500.00 (Rupees Five hundred) only is payable by the applicant in the form of Demand Draft to be drawn in favour of the Accounts Officer (Cash) of the concerned SSA as given in Table-A. Examination fee once paid will not be refunded. SC/ST/PH candidates need not pay the Examination Fee.
How to apply : A candidate can apply for vacancies of any one SSA only and submit application in the format attached hereunder. Neatly typed (only on one side of paper) copy in A4 size (30 cm x 20 cm) may be used for making application. The application filled up in photocopy of the format given in the advertisement will not be entertained. The application complete in all respect along with the examination fee should be sent by Registered post/ Speed Post/ by hand to the SSA concerned on or before 30.9.2007. A list of SSA with the address to whom the applicants should send their application is given in Table-A. The envelop containing the application must be superscribed with “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT OF TELECOM. TECHNICAL ASSISTANT – 2007 ” on top of the envelope. Two self addressed unstamped envelopes of 27 x 12 cms should be enclosed along with the application. Table - A
