The research requires the ability to: lead explorations in a specific area carry out concept creation work with the team and partners in terms of demonstrations via prototypes and associated field trials generate IP and publications discuss with appropriate business units once tangible actionable items are achieved evangelize ideas to a global audienceResponsibilities Carry out world class research Participate in the identification of research problems within selected research themes of the lab Design of robust and efficient implementation of algorithms and solutions for the problem identified (for the technical areas) Publish research in the form of invention disclosures, technical reports, papers and conferences Participate in collaborative research with university partners, and in the development of related standards
Desired Profile:
Work Experience
Strong demonstrated research 2 to 4 years experience with:
o Good software skills
o Significant research publications
o Patents (preferable)
Education
Ph.D./Post-graduate qualification from a national/international university of repute with relevant background in the area being applied for and a consistently high academic record and strong analytical skills.
Personality Traits
Inclination and ability to do independent research, including surveys of available literature, tools and techniques
Hands-on when it comes to implementation and practical evaluation of research ideas
* Team player interested in working closely with other researchers, students and academic partners, and assist with the management of research projects
* Self-driven and able to set and meet goals in an industrial lab environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills

The jobs will be based in HP Labs India in Bangalore, India. Selected candidates should be willing to relocate to Bangalore.
